Speaker Bio
Soonmin Bae is Senior Vice President at Korea Telecom (KT), where she leads generative AI research and the development of KT’s Large Language Model Mi:dm. She was recently appointed as Chief Responsible AI Officer at KT to ensure KT’s AI technologies and services to be safe and trustworthy.
She previously led teams on Video Intelligence and Avatar at NAVER Clova and the Vision AI team for robotics and security cameras at Samsung Techwin. She has also served on various advisory committees, including the National Strategic Technology Planning Advisory Group, the Presidential Digital Platform Government Committee, Personal Information Protection Commission, and the Fourth Industrial Revolution Committee of Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. Prior to industrial experiences, she worked on computational photography and received her Ph.D. and M.S. at MIT CSAIL/EECS and her B.S. at KAIST.
