Chee Kheong FOONG is Group Head of Regulatory Affairs, Group Corporate Office, Axiata Group Berhad. CK has about 25 years of experience in telecommunication, with roles in regulatory strategy and policy development with prior experience in network engineering and project management. Prior to this, he was in regulatory management roles in Digi Telecommunications, Celcom Axiata, U Mobile and the Multimedia Development Corporation. CK holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Queen’s University Belfast, United Kingdom and an MBA from University of Strathclyde. Passionate about spectrum management and spectrum policy, CK established the spectrum policy portfolio for the Axiata Group in 2010, followed closely by the first adoption of spectrum strategy plans through the Axiata operating companies. Recognizing the importance of the work of the GSMA in championing today’s spectrum policy issues and effective advocacy for its members, CK has been a member of the GSMA’s SMG and the SSMG.
