Speaker Bio
Dr. Shin received his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge, where he worked in the Decision Support Group (Cambridge University, Department of Engineering, Manufacturing and Management Division, Institute for Management). He is a member of St Edmunds College, University of Cambridge. He holds a master's degree in engineering from KAIST, Department of Management Science, and a bachelor's degree in economics from Korea University, Department of Statistics. He has served as a professor at the University of East Anglia and Manchester Metropolitan University Business Schools, and as a senior researcher at the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), SK Economic Research Center, and Samsung Economic Research Institute. Currently, he is a professor at Hanyang University School of Business and Chair of the Department of Business Informatics at Hanyang University School of Business, and has conducted projects related to business analytics through data and text-based big data analysis, platform strategy, broadcasting and communication technology policy and strategy, convergence ecosystem strategy related to IT convergence, social platform business and industrial policy, and technology management.
