Speaker Bio
Taejun (David) Lee received his Ph.D. in Communications from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, U.S. and has been a professor at the KDI School of Public Policy and Management since 2015 teaching Information Communication Technologies for Sustainable Development Goals, Digital Government and Governance, Public Communication and Media, and Culture, Creativity and Development at the graduate level. Previously, he served as an Assistant Professor at Bradley University's Communication, Slane College of Communications and Fine Arts (2010-2012) in the U.S. and Kookmin University in South Korea (2012-2015).
His research focuses on the role of technology innovation and digital development in fostering a more active-citizenship and data-driven democracy and, in turn, achieving the quality of government and sustainable development goals. Particularly, he heads the Open Government & Innovation (OGI) Lab, collaborating with central ministries and local governments of Korea, the UK, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Canada, and ASEAN member countries, as well as international organizations like the OECD, World Bank, and UN.
More recently, he has been serving as an adjunct professor at the Graduate School of AI Policy and Strategy at Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology since 2023.
